Inkjet printing may sound suspiciously like your home printer, and in fact it does use the same science but still with a different and more modern technology. Commercial printing companies use heavy duty printers that have different inks and are capable of printing photographic quality images in more materials. With commercial printers, you can expect higher quality output, in much larger sizes, and in a variety of materials. This means there are more printing opportunities for you and your business. Here are some print materials and ideas you can take advantage of when working with printers: 1. Large Format Posters: You can have posters of up to as large as 58x100 inches with .5 inch increments. A very big difference compared to the 8.5 x 13 maximum sizes your inkjet at home can provide. 2. UV-protected Inks: With inkjet printing, the inks themselves have UV properties that makes them resistant to fading. You can print posters on canvas and vinyl and still get rich and durable colors that are fast. 3. Fast Turnaround Inkjet printing is a computer to print process where designs are readily produced in one step. More than printing such prints easily, there is also a faster drying time that makes this process not only simple but convenient for you. Get it when you need it. Many printers can offer as much as next day turnaround time for these prints. 4. Flexible Materials Artist Canvas: When you want to give your prints a dreamy feel, you can have your images printed on the artist canvas - the same material artists use for their paintings. The artist canvas can be printed in any size between 8x8 inches up to as large 58x100 inches with .5 inch increments. When you want to mount these prints, you can simply request a two inch mounting allowance. Vinyl Signs and Banners: This is a synthetic material that is ideal for outdoor use being water proof and tear resistant. The vinyl material comes in large rolls that are fed into the printer allowing you to print with a maximum width of 58 inches and much longer heights. You can request additional grommets or steel rings around the edges of your print to make mounting or hanging your banner easy. You can also attach it to banner stands to create panel displays outside your store. Window Graphics Static Cling and Adhesive Vinyl: The adhesive vinyl is the same material as vinyl banners, but can be requested to have an adhesive back. You can simply peel of the wax paper back and attach it to almost any smooth surface. When you want to attach your signs to glass but want to do away with the messy adhesive residue, you can use inkjet to create window signs or static clings. This may be a clear or opaque designed to attach to glass surfaces. It is easy to apply and remove and reposition. 5. Added Textures With the number of available materials with which you can print on, inkjet printing provides, at the same time, possible textures and effects that can be achieved. The surface of artist canvas, mesh banners, and the like can contribute and make a different look and feel
