A Guide to the Cycle 2008 Exhibition in Earls Court

By: Catherine Gliddon

Cycle 2008 is scheduled to take place at Earls Court in London. The event kicks off on the 9th of October to tradesmen and members of the press only and then opens to the general public from the 10th to the 12th. The exhibition will open its doors at 10 am and shut down at 6 pm everyday except on the final day when it will end at 5 pm. Based on the exhibition's phenomenal success last year, this year's exhibition revisits some of the best exhibitors and features and showcases some new displays from professional riders as well.

Visitors to the Earls Court exhibition get the enviable opportunity to test the bikes and kits on the interactive test tracks and can purchase exclusive clothing from the retail zone. The organizers promise guests the opportunity to rub shoulders with a few of the cycling world's superstars.

The Cycle Show puts biking aficionados within reach of their passion, surrounded by the latest bikes and cycling accessories. Teams from major bike magazines, campaign groups, and experts all mingle amidst the crowd to share their views and offer advice.

As part of the line-up of activities and events, Cycle 2008 will feature an all-action fashion show, test tracks, an indoor duathlon race, a trials competition, and a clothing retail store. This broad perspective ensures that there is something of interest for all visitors regardless of whether they cycle for fun or to commute or to race.

The exhibition will be most useful to tradesmen who are researching new brands and products, previewing their 2009 stock, researching industry trends and updates, and networking with industry professionals.

This will be the seventh exhibition of its kind since its inception at the Business Design Center. The event has been increasing in popularity over the years as more exhibitors and features continue to be added. Earls Court was selected as the venue for the 2008 exhibition as a result of the hugely positive feedback returned by exhibitors and audiences at the 2007 event. Earls Court has a central location that is easily accessible from all over the UK.

Research that was conducted at Cycle 2007 uncovered that 76% of the visitors had purchased, ordered, or were considering ordering items that they may not have considered had they not attended the exhibition. The combined spending capacity of all the attendees amounted to more than £21 million.
