A Guide to the Female Mind

By: Jeffrey Hauser

I need to admit that I’m not a female, right up front. But I’ve been married for a total of 33 years and also have 2 sisters, many female relatives and friends and close female fellow workers. I’ve studied females that I’ve come in contact with from the postal lady to the store clerk and realized that they have a lot in common. These people of the Venus side of the relationship are mystifying, maddening, and yet endearing all at once. While some would argue that a woman should be writing this, most would agree with the majority of what I’m about to state. And while it might not apply to all, it certainly describes most.

This article is intended for pure entertainment value and so I ask you keep your hate mail and threats to yourself. After all, I’m sure you would admit, it’s for the children. Ah. With that plea out of the way, relax and read the sad and funny truth about how the female thinks and acts. Whether you are a man or woman reading this, draw your own conclusions about how right I am. Here they are, in no particular order:

  • They will be very concerned with how they look. From their body to their makeup to their clothes.
  • As a follow-up, everything needs to match, from jewelry to accessories.
  • They prefer to talk things out rather than react first. Conversely, men will jump right in.
  • They can talk on the phone for hours, oblivious to time and space.
  • They will lie about their age and weight. Even when confronted with the hard facts.
  • They hate to assemble or fix anything, especially with moving parts.
  • They think they can deal with the children better than the father. It’s a maternal thing.
  • They enjoy gossiping but will deny that they do, even when confronted.
  • They enjoy looking at men’s butts, but will deny that they do, even when confronted.
  • They are more emotional in general and far more empathetic to their friends and families problems. They will spend more time trying to offer help than a man would in the same circumstance.
  • They love to shop and graze the malls, even when they have no money to spend.
  • They hate going to the car dealer or mechanic for a repair or just to have the oil changed.
  • They love to look at family photos or vacation shots and can reminisce for hours.
  • They enjoy the company of some, but not all woman and sometimes feel intimidated by a younger or sexier-looking woman, especially if their husband is also present.
  • They love scents, whether it be in a bath and body store or a perfume shop. Unlike a man, they can linger there indefinitely.
  • They realize they are smarter than most men and smile when they are told different, knowing all the while how really stupid the man must be to question that fact.

That’s all I can come up with right now. My wife is sitting nearby waiting to take me to the mall. If I can discover any others, I’ll put them in another article. That is, if I’m smart enough to think of them.
