Located right in the heart of Dublin, this forty two acre exhibition centre is perfect not only for exhibitions and trade shows, but also for sporting and entertainment events, as well as business meetings and conferences. The centre has excellent facilities that make this venue excellent for both exhibitors and visitors. With three primary entrances to the Centre, located on Merrion Road, Simmonscourt Road and Anglesea Road, all three entrances have their very own parking areas, with a total of 2000 spaces available. Parking in the centre of Dublin can sometimes be problematic hence the RDS spaces certainly make attending an exhibition at the RDS more practical. If you are attending a show at the RDS and do not need to carry anything more than a laptop, your best bet might well be to use public transport from the airport is you are travelling direct to the venue. With he RDS Centre located in the central part of Dublin, you can gain access to it by road, rail or by air (via Dublin International Airport). Dublin International Airport is only 16 km away from the venue, but be warned that traffic is heavy on most days. If you are travelling to the venue on the same day, you might need to allow up to one and a half hours to get from the airport to the venue because if you hit traffic between the airport and the centre, the traffic can move at a crawl. The best situation is to try and fly in the day before and stay overnight if this is feasible. It is also possible to catch a coach and then take a cab from the coach stop or take a bus that stops at Merrion Road. Even though the bus may not be as comfortable as the cab ride, it is far more convenient with the bus stopping in front of the main gate of the RDS centre. Travelling by rail is also an excellent option as it is extremely fast and also easily accessible. Accommodation will not be a problem as there are plenty of hotels located near the RDS Exhibition Centre. Some of the popular hotels close to the venue are the Four Seasons Hotel, the Burlington Hotel, Bewleys Hotel, the Schoolhouse Hotel, Herbert Park Hotel, Mount Herbert Hotel and the Grand Canal Hotel. There are also other Hotels, which are less expensive, and there are a number of B&Bs and serviced apartments, which you can also rent for short-term visits.
