How do others see your company? Preferably in a positive way! A positive image can influence a customer to purchase your products and/or services, while a negative image can just as easily detour a potential customer.Packaging is something to consider. I’m not talking about what products come in, but rather your business cards, letterhead, website, e-mail address and answering system. All of these things matter. People consciously and unconsciously judge your business based on the previous list. Is your website easy to navigate? Is it uncluttered and professional looking? In today’s market, your site could very well be the first (and last!) impression a potential client receives. Is your e-mail address professional, easy to remember and have something to do with your business? Does your answering service convey professionalism and the message that you want to help; that customers are important to you? Pretend that you are making contact with your business for the first time; see it through a customer’s eye. How does it look to you? Be picky and make the necessarily correctionsHow do you maintain the positive image you’ve worked so hard to achieve? Customer service is a good place to start. I personally have a “naughty” list of all the companies I won’t do business with. This list stems mostly from poor customer service. Don’t be that business. Once you lose a customer, they will be nearly if not entirely impossible to get back, AND they will tell their friends. Yikes!
