I wish I’d known about affiliate marketing when I first became interested in e-commerce. Instead I just looked in the search engines for home businesses. Much to my chagrin I found myself looking at MLM. I had tried multi-level marketing at least four times in the offline world. I had vowed never to get involved again.So here I was getting sucked in by the “No. 1” MLM company on the net. (or so they said) One thing I disliked about network marketing was the calling aspect. I would rather stick needles in my eyes than cold call people on the phone, or warm call them for that matter. This outfit was different, "they didn’t require you to make calls." WRONG! It was a lie. So I skedaddled.Eventually, I discovered internet marketing, which led to affiliate marketing. Unlike MLM most disciples of affiliate marketing didn’t promote it as a get rich quick scheme. They explained what kind of tools you needed and the kind of promotion required to make it work. They didn’t serve it up as pablum. The emphasis of their rap was on hard work.Here are some of the things I learned:
