An Effective Internet Marketing Strategy Is More Than Just Online Advertising I

An effective internet marketing strategy is more than just online advertising. It involves developing a product that will generate income, a website on which to promote it and an effective online marketing or advertising strategy. A lack of any of these three elements will result in failure.

The product should preferably be your own and also be unique. The first is not necessarily essential, since you can sell products belonging to other people either as an affiliate or with master resale rights, but the second, the uniqueness, is less negotiable. You want to avoid competing against many other people selling exactly the same thing, and this you cannot do as an affiliate or by selling a product with resale rights.

Most people should be able to produce their own product in the form of an ebook on their niche, but if you can not then you would be better purchasing private label rights to an existing product than resale rights. With private label rights you can change the title and the content of the product and render it uniquely yours. Even if many others have purchased the same rights, they are unlikely to have customized it in the same way that you have. A unique product, therefore, need not necessarily have been written by you, but should at least have your stamp on it.

The important factor here, whether you are producing your own product or promoting that of another, is to make sure that there is a market before you try to sell it. Many people produce a product by writing an ebook or a piece of software without testing the water first. Make sure there is a market for the product or you will spend a lot of time and effort flogging a dead horse that will not make you a dime.
