Are Think Tanks Properly Named?

When you hear the name Think Tank you think of a group of super intellectuals solving the toughest problems that face mankind. Unfortunately, many are stuck in linear thought on one side or the other of the political spectrum. Some are courting a third-way, but most have guidelines and limits to what they will consider. This is akin to Thinking inside of a Box or a Think Tank.

Yet all Think Tanks claim to think outside of the box, but how can they if they are the box? Actually, as the coordinator for the Online Think Tank, I must say that I do not like the name "Think Tank" because I think you should be thinking around the tank or outside the cave or box and not enclosed in anyway.

The imagery of a Think "Tank" is an oxymoron by Plato's Cave Allegory standards right? See my point? A think box? Well that is Academia really? Inside the box institutionalized thinking and brain conditioning to insure everyone has the same answer? No thanks to think tanks.

However, Think Tank is a powerful word in the modern day context and brings the illusion of power you see? But a thought without action is powerless in a way? See my point? The name think tank ought to be changed. How about "Mind Universe" MSG Mind Synergy Group? "UME" Universal Mind Experience? Think on it?
