Article Marketing – Using Articles to Create Credibility

Article marketing has been very good to me, and one of the things that I think works in my favor is the credibility it brings. When someone reads a few of the 800+ articles I have posted all over the web, there is something special that happens in their mind.

But it is more than just writing articles. I think you have to write them in such a way that the readers are compelled to click at the end of the article. Because if they read the article, and think, oh, well, at the end, and don’t click, then you aren’t going to get much traffic. You have to write articles that are full of useful content, perhaps content they cannot easily find on the web.

Here is what I do that I think is important to getting clicks:

1) I write about what the title says. No trickery. I stick to one topic. You opened my article because they wanted more information about whatever the title said, nothing else. So if I write about that I am well ahead. You must remain accurate if you want credibility.

2) I write conversationally. No stiff language. I write like you are in my living room. That is important if you want to create a feeling of trust.

3) I give people a good reason to click at the bottom. Not something lousy – but a real gift.

4) I think this is a good one. I am writing for direct clicks, not to get picked up by an ezine, so I keep the article short. If an ezine publisher doesn’t want my article because it is too short, so what? I am getting clicks. That’s what matters to me. I want clicks, I want exposure. I am not aiming for newsletter submissions – most of them don’t get opened, anyway, is my opinion.

Call me jaded – whatever – but I get clicks, and that is one of the ways I measure things online.
