Autoresponders - How to Write Your First Few Email Messages

Autoresponders are critical to success online, and yet so many people have no clue what to put in their autoresponders.

I often am asked by my own subscribers, who are trying to build lists of their own, what do I put on my autoresponder?

Here it is, first 3 emails:

1) Your first email should thank them for joining your mailing list, and include a link to the free giveaway item you offered as an incentive to join your list. If you didn’t offer anything to induce them to join, that is fine, but give them a free gift anyhow. Anytime you over deliver, you create value and relationship with your subscribers.

2) Your second email should contain very useful information. Aside from the value in your first email, this email will help cement in your subscribers’ minds whether or not they will continue to open your emails. Write an email full of useful tips. It is senseless to try to sell anything on this email--they generally don’t buy on the second email, and this is strictly a relationship building email, anyhow.

3) Your third email should offer an unanticipated free gift. Either another free ebook you have written, or a useful free ebook from someone else, or a link to a free gift site somewhere else. Note on that: be very careful sending your traffic to someone else’s web site. Every email list your subscribers sign up to dilutes the value of your own emails.

4) Bonus email: The fourth email should be loaded with value, and can include a one line recommendation to a product either you have created yourself, or have purchased and used yourself.
