Blogging - Is It Successful These Days?

Inventing of internet has eased communications, and sharing information easily around the world. Because internet has become available for almost every one, more and more content also become available. Recently invention of program called Blog or Weblog, has allow every one with internet connection and some knowledge of computer to post content on the internet. It is now become more difficult for authors to seek the first spot on search engine for their contents.

Compare to static html pages, blogs attract more search engine attention, because one of the blog feature is pinging to tell ping service the content is published. Because of this feature blog has become a useful tool for search engine optimization (SEO). When we talk about search engine optimization, blog is a wonderful tool. But everyone starts new blog everyday. Millions of blogs is on the internet, and the number is growing continually. How on earth is it possible to distinguish our content from the crowd? So what does it take for blog to become successful? Following are some suggestions:

• Choose your niche: We cannot possibly write about any topics. Keeping blog in a specialized field makes the readers think that you are an expert in the field. For example, I am trying to search for “How to choose a webhost provider?” On the same blog I also find information such as flowers, cars, and healthcare. That would make me think that this blog owner is not an expert on any topics, the author just copy and past information from other sources.

• Contents: I am not talking about 10 or 20 pages of contents, but hundred pages that need updates regularly. Also, the content must be unique, because the search engine has no interested in copied contents. Quality contents take time; of course we are not willing to put that much effort in making such contents, because there is no guarantee the blog become successful. There are freelance writers out there that willing to write contents for the price of 5 to 7 USD. I am sure that this is not economically possible to out-source content writing of hundreds of pages.

• Don’t over promote: Most of blog surfer seek for information not shopping. Over promoting your products in your blog, decrease its credibility. People think that you are just trying to sell something, but not providing any valuable information. This is the reason that they never return to read another post from your blog.

To sum up blogging is not easy; you need to know how to write effectively. Blogging need you to put in real efforts. If you are looking to monetized your blog on Pay Per Click advertising program such as Google Adsense, one thing I can guarantee you is that you will not see result in just a few day. But, if you keep on trying you can expect the long-term result.
