Reggie Brown has signed a five year extension with Philadelphia Eagles meaning that Brown will stay with them till 2014. The deal is worth $27 million and includes a guaranteed $10 million in cash.Brown was a second round pick last season and is the third member of that draft class to get a long term extension with the Eagles.Brown insists that money had nothing to do this. Brown is know for his extremely strong work ethics. Brown knows that he could be giving up a better contract in future by signing now. He says that he made his decision after weighing all the options. Brown went on say that he loves the city and his team and no problem whatsoever playing for the Eagles. Brown showed what he was made of after he became a starter when Terrel Owens was sent away from the team midway last season. Brown has 26 catches for 502 years and six touchdowns including one rushing score. Brown’s average of 19.3 yards per catch is considered to be one of the best amongst the receivers.The Eagles and Brown’s agent could not strike a deal in time to meet the deadline for allotting signing bonuses to year’s salary cap. However, the Eagles’ management ensured that Brown did get a chance to test free agency after the expiration of his original contract.
