CVI is pleased to announce that Shahram Khalil has been appointed the new general manager of its Covina, Calif., operations. Khalil will report to Mark West, vice president of operations. "We are delighted to have such an experienced and strong leader for CVI Optical Components," said West. "Shahram brings an extensive background serving OEM markets for optical components and assemblies: introducing new product lines, leading cross-functional design, marketing, and production teams, and meeting delivery schedules." Prior to joining CVI, Khalil was senior product/program manager for ESS Technology Inc., which develops camera phones for wireless handsets. Previous to his tenure at ESS Technology, Khalil was a director of product development for Newport Corp., senior account manager for Corning OCA, and director, product business team of Xerox Corp. Serving semiconductor, biotech, industrial, commercial and research industries, CVI combines 30 years of optics manufacturing expertise with precision machining and mechanical design to produce integrated opto-mechanical assemblies.
