Staying forever young is what everyone wishes for, but as much as we would like to slow down time, we realize that the passing of time is irreversible, and we have to accept that we all grow old. However, the technological advancement that we have experienced over recent decades has allowed for more thorough and accurate studies to be conducted, and some of their results are more than satisfactory. Can the aging process be slowed down? According to many scientists, it can. There are of course those who are more skeptical with regard to interfering with the natural functioning of our bodies, but there comes a time when the aging process takes its toll, and not every one of us can just stand by and not do anything about it. After years of studies conducted on subjects of all ages, scientists have come to the conclusion that HGH, the human growth hormone, can help in the process of reversing the signs of aging. HGH is naturally produced in your body until you reach your forties, at which time the production of HGH decreases gradually and you can notice the presence of those frailty signs, which are typical for a person who gets older. Before we go any further, we should make it very clear that HGH is not a miracle worker. In fact, scientists say that HGH still has a long way to go before it can be proclaimed the fountain of youth. However, the demonstrated effects of HGH, as shown by studies, include: increased muscle mass, decreased body fat, increased bone density, increased exercise capacity, improved motivation and mood, and an increased ability of the heart to contract. People with growth hormone deficiency are recommended to include HGH in their treatment. The same recommendation goes for children with kidney failure and short stature, children with the Turner or Prader-Willi syndrome, or people who suffer from muscle wasting due to AIDS or HIV. The benefits of a HGH-based treatment for people with growth hormone deficiency or any of the conditions listed above are clinically proven. But when it comes to the benefits of HGH supplements for older adults with a naturally low level of growth hormone, studies are not conclusive, as they have not been conducted on a similarly large scale as the other ones. However, given the demonstrated effects of HGH supplements on people with growth hormone deficiency, it is believed that HGH can function as an increment in the aging process, and help you regain some of your vitality and youth if your hormone level in naturally low due to aging. DHEA, or dehydroepiandrosterone, is also used in the form of supplements in anti-aging therapies. Maintaining vigor and energy and fighting chronic illnesses are some of the demonstrated effects of DHEA supplements. DHEA is naturally produced by the adrenal glands in your body, which uses this hormone to produce other hormones, such as estrogen and testosterone. The level of DHEA in your body is maximal in your twenties. As you age, the natural production of DHEA decreases gradually. Aside from the aging process, which is inevitable, there are many other factors that bear the responsibility of contributing to lower levels of DHEA secretion. These factors include obesity, lack of exercise, hypothyroidism, heavy alcohol drinking, stress and birth control pills. It is believed that a low level of DHEA contributes to the intensification of the aging process. This is the reason why DHEA in the form of supplements is the choice of so many people who want a reliable ally in the fight the age-related changes. You should keep in mind that studies are not very conclusive when it comes to the side effects of HGH and DHEA supplements on healthy adults with normal hormone levels. Therefore, you should consult with your doctor prior to going on a HGH or DHEA therapy.
