After the suicide of band Boston leader Brad Delp and comedian Richard Jeni, I started to research other suicides by celebrities or famous people. I am shocked by the names on this list. I had hoped that the clues to these highly public suicides would provide clues to help prevent other suicides. Virtually all of the suicides were due to depression, loss, grief and intense pressure to be the best at their profession. Ultimately, just like every other successful death by suicide, they just didn't want to live any more.If you have suicidal ideations, you should immediately call 911, a family member and the Suicide Help Line; 1-800-SUICIDE( 800-784-2433).1. Brynn Hartman (1998), wife of actor Phil Hartman whom she murdered before turning the gun on herself2. Ernest Hemingway (1961), American novelist, shotgun3. Margaux Hemingway (1996), American actress and model; Ernest Hemingway's granddaughter4. Adolf Hitler (1945), Nazi Germany's leader5. Doug Hopkins (1993), musician and founding member of rock group The Gin Blossoms Killed himself with a .38 pistol December 56. Jared High (1998), bully victim, killed himself at age of 13. He developed depression due to the bully problems at school.7. Brian Keith (1997), American actor (Family Affair)8. Terry Long (2005), NFL Player for the Pittsburgh Steelers, suffered Major Depression Disorder, drank antifreeze9. Robert Leon Nichols (1997), roadie with the Grateful Dead, in an apparent copy of the Heaven's Gate cult suicides10. Marc Potvin (2006), Hockey coach, suffered depression, hanged himself11. Glenn Quinn (2002), Mark on TV's "Roseanne", suffered depression, Drug Overdose12. Margaret Mary Ray (1998), David Letterman stalker, knelt in front of a train13.
