ISP's are getting faster and faster, so having an Internet speed test will show you how fast your connection may be. Most ISP's don't include a speed test with their services. Most "Free" Internet speed tests aren't really free as they may want your email address, or even worse try to install spyware onto your computer slowing it down even worse. Worst still is most require some form of payment before they actually provide the speed test at all. Eventually you might actually find one that doesn't have some form of malware attached to it. Unfortunately, the program may not even work. 70% of Americans use at least 1 ISP. Over 60% of those households have DSL or Cable Internet service. 86% of these don't get a free speed test with their Internet. Not paying to check something as simple as your internet speed is just plain fair. Most households can barely afford the Internet so why pay just to test it? Finding a decent speed test can be a quite a chore. Once you find one though you can save it and check your ISP's speed when ever you want. Keeping tabs on your Internet speed may show you when your connection is the fastest as well as the slowest. Allowing you the freedom to choose when to use your service to its fullest potential.
