Easy Tips For Natural Stress And Anxiety Relief

By: Frank McGinty...

We live our lives at such a fast pace today that we tend to forget about natural stress and anxiety relief, don't we? When we feel stressed the easier option is to grab a 'cure-all' pill or medicine. But since stress can destroy our health and even kill, perhaps it's time to look at our response more carefully. Good health and the freedom to enjoy life are priceless, so why not stop and consider some natural stress and anxiety relief techniques?

What About The Doctor?

Many people are reluctant to visit their doctor. After all, no one wants to hear bad news - ignore it and it will go away! - but equally, no one wants to pay good money for something they already know about. So when is it a good idea to consult the doctor for stress and anxiety relief?

Let's say you've noticed a loss of appetite and you're not sleeping well. In this case you should seek medical advice. If things are worse and you feel suicidal or see no point in going on, then get down to the surgery! Even if you're not quite at that stage, but your life is being ruined by anxiety and depression, you need to put on that appointment. Listen carefully to the doctor's advice and follow any treatment, but perhaps it's time to look into some methods of natural stress and anxiety relief.

Lots of Lovely Fresh Air!

Here's what to do. When you next experience anxiety or stress, observe your breathing. You can even get someone to do this for you. Gasping, hyperventilation and speeded-up breathing are signs of stress, and when they persist they only make matters worse. The brain loses the supply of oxygen it needs to function normally. It's no surprise, then, that this makes you feel worse.

When this brings on feelings of panic, try to relax and regain control. Rhythmic, deep breathing is an excellent form of natural stress and anxiety relief. Your heart beat will go back to normal and your blood pressure will stabilize. This will make you feel better right away. And this improvement will enable you to manage the crisis.

However, it's not always easy to start this deep breathing for natural stress and anxiety relief. In that case, try this tip. Open a bottle of essential oils. Put it to your nose and sniff! The aroma of the oils will instantly help you to take deeper breaths. This is an instinctive reaction.

Many pharmacies and supermarkets carry essential oils these days, the most popular being lavender, frankincense and tea tree. Bergamot is quite popular, but you either love it or hate it. These oils are produced from plant and fruit extracts, so they are organic and are excellent sources of natural stress and anxiety relief. Why not try some today? Even holding that small, dark glass bottle will act as a confidence booster under stress.
