Is there really an easy way to stop drinking? If there were, I believe many people would have already stopped. But it is more difficult than it seams. It really does take strong will power and determination. It takes willingness, and more importantly, a “want” to stop drinking. If you do not want to stop drinking, you never will. If you really want to, then there can be an easy way to stop drinking.I would never sit here and tell you to just quit. I do not believe it can happen. I personally chewed tobacco for over 5 years in the service, and always said I would quit when I got out. I had it in my head I was not addicted, and I could quit whenever I wanted to. And on the last day of service, I threw out my can in the trash, and have never chewed since. So, I know it is possible. But this is a very unlikely scenario. Drinking fills a void. And it is this void will we need to get to the bottom of.You have to find something else to take the place of drinking. This could be any activity, or just something to keep you busy. And you will really need to be busy during the drinking time. You need to find something to take the place of this drinking. And it will be difficult. And it is not an all or nothing circumstance. If you stop for 4 days, and then have a drink, don’t beat yourself up over it. Start again the next day. They say it takes 27 days to break or form a habit, and this is what you are doing.So in short, there is no easy way to stop drinking. But there are definitely programs out there which can help you. And these can help you from the privacy of your own home. This is especially important to some people, and they find it embarrassing. There is no reason to be ashamed of anything. You need to do this for yourself, and no one else. And you can. Don’t wait any longer trying to decide when. Do it today.
