Email Marketing - How to Build Relationship With Your Subscribers

Email marketing is one of the most powerful mediums of internet marketing today, and yet it is misunderstood, misused, and it generally produces only a fraction of the profit that it could produce.

Why? Because you treat your subscribers like they are numbers on an email list. When was the last time you personally responded when someone emailed you a question? I mean a real answer, where you told them everything they needed to know without trying to sell them a book on the topic?

You must first of all care about your subscribers, because if you don’t, they don’t buy as much from you. Sure, maybe you only care because they are going to buy from you, but you must care, or they will not.

So how do you show you care?

1) Send them free, no strings attached gifts from time to time. Not something they have to jump through hoops to get, just a genuine gift.

2) Ask your subscribers questions and then answer their questions. Every single one of them. If the question has general application, answer it mailbag style - answer the question for everyone on your list. If it is pretty targeted and you don’t think it would hold much interest for everyone else on the list, respond back personally. You think it is time consuming? It is. But it is gratifying when you answer a question for someone and the next day they start buying your products.

3) Ask your subscribers what they want to learn more about, and then provide it for them. In this case, you can create a product that will meet their needs and sell it to them.

4) Stop trying to sell in your emails. Teach in your emails. Give them content in your emails, then direct them to a link. Let the sales page do the selling.
