We have a new pastor at our church, and he had a novel idea to suggest during church on Sunday morning. Scotty Thomson has a history of working with prisons and various other non-motivating groups throughout his ministry, but he still manages to maintain a sense of humor and an encouraging personality.It doesn’t take much to criticize people around us. They do stupid things, injure our feelings, and motivate us to less than attractive behavior ourselves, but we allow those behaviors to escape from us. How much better would it be to make a choice to motivate and encourage others?Encouragement is a gift. What you do with that gift is up to you. You could use the gift to motivate others to actions that will improve their position in life. You could use that gift to endorse and appreciate good behavior in others. These choices would benefit all of mankind and give you a better position from which to review your own life.Once you begin to give encouragement to others, you begin to feel better about who you are and what you want to accomplish. Dreams all becomes possible. Goals all become within your grasp. You too can achieve your dreams if you help enough other people to achieve theirs. The statement sounds like a Zigism spouted by Zig Ziglar, but he definitely has a point. If your purpose in life is to help others to achieve their dreams and goals, your own goals and dreams become visible, achievable, and within your grasp.Dreams become clearer the closer you come to achieving them. Encourage someone close to you to take than next leap of faith, and see how much clearer your goals get.
