FTC Cracking Down on Pre-Texting?

By: Lance Winslow

The Federal Trade Commission is going after Pre-texting after this latest scandal that has rocked the Corporate Business World as HP is caught up in the spying catastrophe. The Federal Trade Commissions PR machine is now splashing headlines around the nation showing how they are going after all the bad guys stealing the phone numbers we dial. The consumer must be so proud that they are now having their privacy protected by the mighty Federal Trade Commission.

What you might find odd is how come it took them so long to worry about pre-texting, as it is not any big secret really, in fact I bet that the FTC itself uses pre-texting in its investigations so they can make a big case to sensationalize in the media and splash the headlines with to prove their self-worth. I would bet on it actually.

Additionally the FTC has scrutinized the telephone industry for over 3 decades now and it seems rather silly to believe that they only knew of this problem now. You see, the FTC either knew or should have known about pre-texting and it is amazing with all their promises to curb Identity Theft that they are not more up on the realities of information flows.

Personally, I have known about pre-texting for 8 or more years and had even made sure my phone record access had a special pass word to prevent this sort of thing, because I know that they teach corporate espionage in our Top Business Universities, under such names as; Corporate Intelligence 101, Business Competition 101 and Proprietary Information Strategies 101.

Further, businesses in competition use the same tactics as governments to fish for information, for gods sakes where do you think they learned it all? Our foreign competitors are ripping off our proprietary information as fast as our American Companies create it and the government is helping them do it. How?

Easy they make us fill out incessant forms all public information and they demand back doors to Corporate Data, thus allowing for hackers, identity thieves and all sorts of people to get your information. You see the public is so utterly blind to all the real issues that they are buying this FTC publicity and public relations tactic hook, line and sinker.

I have no trust in that agency and documentation to prove why. So I ask the simple question; if pre-texting is so bad, why didn’t the FTC stop it years the prior, asleep at the wheel like the other Kennedy from CT on prescription medication as he plowed into the barricade recently in DC and then simply got a ride home from Police?

The government is not protecting our identity they are collectors of this information and the FTC is using this issue to exploit us and justify it's wasteful budget increases each year, so it can further pay for its synergy gained by its ridiculous PR machine? Dah? Wake Up America, the buzzer has been going off for over an hour now.
