The weather experienced around the world takes on many different shapes, strengths and forms. Lots of factors influence our daily weather, weather is always changing and it affects everyone’s day to day lives. Most people would tell you that their ideal weather would be sunny and warm, but what if that were to happen every single day of the year? Think of the drought that would follow from the lack of rain, grass and crops would die, the air would be dusty. Weather influences everything from the type of clothes and shoes we wear to the plans we make for the weekend.Weather is influenced by lots of conditions in the atmosphere including heat energy, moisture, winds, and the air pressure. Even though the Earth is warmed by heat rising from the surface the air temperature varies from place to place. How is this possible? The warmest areas on Earth are at or near the equator. The areas that are closest to or at the equator receive the most direct sunlight from the sun's rays. More sunlight means warmer temperatures for that area. The jet stream can also influence the weather. The jet stream can cause air masses in the lower atmosphere to spread out which in turn then produces areas of low pressure. Low pressure areas are typically the center of stormy weather. Another factor that influences the weather is moisture in the air. Moisture in the air condenses and that air can then fall to the earth as rain, hail, snow, or sleet.Weather patterns can change if they are affected by an air mass or a weather front. Air masses are large bodies of air which influence weather. Another factor that can change the weather pattern is a weather front. A weather front is a boundary between two air masses. There are four different types of weather front stationary, warm, cold, and occluded. Unsettled weather can regularly be found at a weather front, cloudy conditions are often found where a cold front and a warm front converge.
