The Franchising Regulatory Rules in the United States, especially at the Federal Level have a lot to be desired indeed. Would you like the truth about franchise business model and government in the US from my perspective? Who am I, well I am a built from scratch entrepreneur Franchisor Founder, who franchised units in 23 states and 110 cities. Would you like to here what I think?Sure; You see, Franchises are not deemed by the government like many think, the semi-illiterate regulatory folks in my opinion only attempt to define the word franchising and they quite frankly do not know squat. What you have in essence in the US is kids graduating from the George Town University who are 23 years old defining what franchising is working in the regulatory body, which oversees the franchising models in the Free Markets in the United States. Many of these just over adolescents in my summation have most likely not even ever had a job and they definitely have not run a business or ever made a payroll. They simply do as they are told, who tells them? Interesting you should ask; let us say a senator calls up and says; "I want to look into this" or that (some contributor to his campaign with a lobbyist from a corporation that is having issues with their competition, because they cannot compete. The Senator talks to a commissioner and the commissioner to a department head and then it gets assigned to a 23-year old, so the government will go after the company to help out the competitor and so, they launch and investigation, if they do not find anything, they make something up to justify their time keep peace and insure next years increased budget. And that is your franchise regulatory bodies and taxpayers money at work. Consider all this in 2006.
