God With Skin

God with skin wants to be kin
To draw near and come in
To commune with your heart
By the power of the Holy Spirit
Which enables you to feel it
Experience deity marvelously
Embrace your Creator fully
Be cleansed of your sin deeply
Repent and turn wholeheartedly
From the error of your ways
Lifting up eyes to heaven today
That you may happily fast & pray
Catch the Word of faith and say
"If God be for me, who can be
against me?" A truth certainly
That produces most remarkably
Brings about lasting prosperity
Inwardly and emotionally
Physically and financially
Socially and spiritually.
Yet most importantly
The Lord's blessings flow
Where your love does go
Affection and adoration
Captures the Father's heart.
Worship and praise Him
The ideal place to start.
Express your deep love
To God dwelling above.
If you find it a bit difficult
Feel somewhat distant
Perhaps a touch reluctant
Defiantly self-reliant
Devilishly arrogant
Wayward and errant
This precisely is why
God came with skin
To come and get in
Into our unique world
Though He made it all.
His deepest desire
Of which He doesn't tire
Is to fondly befriend you
As a Father dote on you
Feel, touch, and hear
What's bothering you
Somehow help you too
To get those special things
That dearly matter to you
That possess your core
Which you strive hard for
Labor to obtain and savor.
God however has a door
That He continually knocks
Hoping to be welcomed
Hungering for friendship
Thirsting for fellowship
Yearning for acknowledgment
Desirous, gentle, and patient
This precious Prince of peace
Who came from heaven
To dwell and live on earth
Awaken us to the new birth
Pay the penalty for our sin
Boldly purchase our freedom
Die a brutal death on the cross
So we could crossover and come
Wonderfully and excitedly run
Reconnect with our Creator
Reconcile with our Father
Tender in love unconditional
Overflowing with love eternal
This Jesus we call Immanuel
Born by a virgin supernatural
God with us phenomenal
In skin humble and fatal
That He might understand
Our daily struggles & troubles
Why we get the shaky wobbles
Weakness, infirmities, and foibles.
Jesus being kind, quick to relate
God above took on flesh to abate
Satan's sinister, foul oppression
Conquering the father of lies
Dealer in deceitful accusation
By reason of the crucifixion
Yet long before doing so
Our Lord happily did know
That what it is we go through
So herein He can help us too!
Jesus felt pain and hunger
Christ experienced thirst
Homelessness and agony
He cried for Lazarus sadly
The Pharisees irritated Him
Beyond comprehension
With their dead religion
Nevertheless He loved more
Forgiving, He did not abhor
Instead He honorably prayed
Naked and ashamed He made
The ultimate and supreme sacrifice
Giving humanity His precious life
Nailed viciously to the cross
To redeem the souls of mankind
Eagerly searching, looking to find
Someone to warmly give Him time
To opine, talk, touch, love, and listen
This is why God took on fleshly skin
God in Christ, the divine incarnation
Ironically conquering through crucifixion
Destroying death through the resurrection
Giving to humanity an open arms invitation.
