The Super Bowl game has proved to be a difficult one in Grossman’s career. Taking into account his disastrous performance this season, Rex Grossman has not been the best bets during the match. He could not meet expectations nor could he raise his performance during the grand finale, much to the disappointment of the team and the fans those who have constantly supported him.Rex Grossman, playing as a quarterback for Chicago Bears’, has been low in confidence and has been playing badly throughout the season. It is believed that due to his bad performance at the Super Bowl, Bears lost the game 29-17 to Indianapolis Colts. However, it would not be fair to result the blame of Bears’ Super Bowl loss solely on Grossman’s shoulders. The other players are also to be blamed as they were unable to intercept his passes. Grossman threw almost 165 yards in 28 attempts. In contrast, Peyton Manning of the Colts managed to throw 247 yards in 25 passes. Grossman also fumbled the passes a number of times right through the game. But most importantly, the Bears were not able to break through the tough defense of the Colts.Apart from Grossman’s poor show, another big loss for the Bears was their backup running back Cedric Benson. He injured his knee in the late first half of the game. With his hard straight head running, Benson was quite successful in breaking the Colts’ defense. He was able to make up for Thomas Jones. But Grossman was not able to maintain the run. He had a try in the first half when Jones started a 52 yard run and Grossman gave a 4 yard touchdown pass to Muhsin Muhammad. Apart from this rare incident, most the time Rex was completely ineffective on the field in the one game that mattered the most to the Bears.
