As we sit in our living rooms and consider the various political controversies that are conjured up by the mass media hysteria to keep us in suspense, people are dropping like flies in Africa from starvation, HIV and AIDS. The challenge of fighting this disease is ominous and seemingly impossible. And yet there are groups on the ground floor who are beating the odds out there in villages and communities.How are they doing it? By employing a multi-faceted approach and not just fighting AIDS but also working on issues with food supplies, water, sustainable agriculture, education and even rudimentary sanitation like toilets. HIV and AIDS the Monster that is Killing Africa and one group that our Online Think Tank ran across recently was KENWA run by executive director Asunta Wagura. Asunta is on the ground floor and in the trenches protecting orphans, educating them and gathering up a team to take it all to the next step.How is KENWA going to do it? Well they already are, perhaps you heard about them recently on NPR and the wonderful things that they were doing there? As this multifaceted model continues to work and become more refined it appears that it is just a matter of duplication throughout the continent, helping people help themselves and conquer the monster that threatens their vary existence. www.kenwa.org.I certainly hope this article is of interest and that is has propelled thought.
