Suppose, through an act of God or miracle of science, you have been granted a second chance at life. You have lived a full life and now have the opportunity to start again in a young body, And with one important advantage; you retain all your memories from the first lifetime. In other words, you can bypass the mistakes you made when you were far less experienced. So what would that be like? Would you choose a completely different occupation, spouse, and other landmark decisions or are you a creature of habit and destined to repeat history? It depends. Some us are reluctant to veer from our old habits. Others enjoy the challenge of change and would attempt almost anything different. But understand that you get to remake a former life and are not guaranteed that this chance will be available ever again. What type of other decisions will you make? Where do you live? In your former town or try out a completely new area? How will you make a living? By doing what you knew from the previous life or reinventing yourself? How do you go about avoiding the issues you faced before? Are you smart enough to start planning your retirement earlier by investing at a younger age? Can you pick a better spouse by using what you learned the first time round? Would they meet certain criteria you failed to recognize before? The problem with any second opportunity at a new life are the factors you can’t control. Even with a new younger body, you have to live in the real world. And that world contains environmental and human obstacles, many of which can cause constant threats and upheaval. Could it happen to you in your new lifetime? Consider what happened to a gentleman named Avery Bergman, in the late nineteen nineties. He had grown up in rural West Virginia and lived to be the world’s oldest man. He somehow awoke up one winter’s morning as a young man. You would think he was the luckiest man on earth. But you would be wrong. Unfortunately for him, he had gotten the attention of four ruthless aging millionaires that called themselves the December Club. These elderly men decided that this mysterious man held the key to the fountain of youth. Therefore, with all the money and resources at their disposal, they attempted to snare the man they nicknamed the “Phoenix.” A cross-country adventure unfolded as Bergman attempted to elude the Club’s detective. Then finally, with nowhere left to hide, the Phoenix was forced to take a defiant stand against the wealthy pursuers. Was it fact or fiction?
