How You Can Prolong Your Life Even If You Have High Blood Pressure Or Heart Disease

By: Charles Neshah

You can prolong your life considerably by changing from sedentary to an active lifestyle, even if you have high blood pressure. Yes, Reasonable exercise is a necessity for good health, because it enables proper blood circulation, proper metabolism and clear blood ways that preclude most of the diseases suffered by people of sedentary lifestyle.

Yes, if your lifestyle is sedentary you stand the risk of developing such chronic diseases as obesity or diabetes, the forerunner of numerous other health problems like high blood pressure and heart disease. You may not have heard that activity is the secret of longevity; but that is the truth. Inactivity predisposes death. But you must consult you're your physician for advice on the proper type of exercise.

Active people tend to live longer than none active people. For instance, if you are a person whose job entails sitting all day and you do not exercise, you will not be able to burn enough calories, and as you age, blood sugar will accumulate in your blood and impair circulation.

Poor blood circulation can gradually lead to Hypertension, and if not treated, it will later lead to heart attack and several other diseases, because impaired blood circulation means both oxygen and nutrient scarcity for the cells of your body; especially the tiny cells in both the brain and the eyes. So, aside from high blood pressure, you are predisposed to both stroke and blindness.

Now, can you see how a healthy and long life is linked to reasonable exercise? Your heart is like a machine that runs on both blood and oxygen. It has arteries and smaller blood vessels, which must all remain free, otherwise the machines gets damaged and stops.

Even if you have a heart condition, how active you lead your life will determine to a large extent how long you will live. As I said earlier in this article, if you don't exercise you will burn less or no calories at all, which will predispose you to blood sugar and cholesterol accumulation, obesity, diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease.

A lot of people do next to nothing physically. Their physical activity ranges from walking from the bed to the couch, to the toilet back to the couch, into the car and from the car to the office, where the sit all day long. Think about yourself now and decided if you are active enough to live up to seventy years old. If you are not, begin an exercise regimen today. You can start with your school PE exercises, biking yourself about and walking in stead of using the car.

Having said all that, eating right is another factor that determines how long you will live. If you are eating too much of everything because you can afford them, that's unhealthy. If you are smoking and love salt, sugar, fat, too much red meat and carbohydrate, you are inviting both high blood pressure and heart disease through blood sugar and cholesterol accumulation. Regulate your life with both moderate exercise and eating right. Eat more of fresh food, vegetables and fruits Exercise regularly for a healthy longer life.
