If you know how to use article marketing to promote your website, you will be amazed at how quickly your site will shoot up the search engine listings. Article marketing is a no-lose undertaking which can only be to your benefit provided that you follow a few simple rules.The term generally refers to article submission to article directories, each of which has its own submission rules. Some directories allow html within the body of the article while others insist on plain text only. Some directories allow website links within the body of the article while others do not. This can give you a problem when submitting using submission sites or software, and you are recommended not to use html unless you are submitting personally to those directories that allow it. Otherwise your article could be published with all the html tags visible.Most directories allow html in the author’s resource box, where you are allowed to provide a link to your web site. Where this is allowed, you are recommended to provide two links. Most directories allow two links, but check on the site’s submission rules first. The first should be a straight URL to a page on your web site that relates to the content of the article. This is important since if a reader has been reading about fly fishing for trout, and decides to visit your site for more information, they don’t want to land on a page with information about sea fishing, or even salmon fly fishing. They were reading about trout fly fishing, so that is where you should send them.
