The second should be an html anchor text link such as ‘trout fly fishing’ that is html linked to your trout fly fishing page. This lets Google and the other search engines know what the content of the page is, and is a more valuable link than a straight URL. Both links provide you with a one-way link back to your fishing site. Add the first URL early so that if there is a restriction on the use of html or word count, your main link will be still be visible. The resource box links have three uses, believe it or not! First, visitors can click on them for more information on what they have just read. This provides you with a good source of direct traffic. Secondly, you get a link back to your site from the directory, and third, readers are allowed to copy your article to their own web sites as long as they include your resource box. You then get, not only a link back from these sites, but also more sources of direct traffic from the visitors of these sites. However, back to directory rules. Some directories allow more than one link in the resource box while others allow just the one. Most directories have a minimum word count for the article body and a few also have a maximum. Many also have a maximum word count for the resource box, so again be careful when submitting using software or a submission service. As previously recommended, provide your URL early in your resource box so that it is not cut if there is a low word limit. Your resource box is, after all, the whole crux of your article marketing campaign.
