Internet Email Marketing Strategy

The first step to internet email marketing strategy is to get an autoresponder. You simply cannot make it mailing email online without an autoresponder.

The second step to internet email marketing strategy is to build up your list. Some claim this as the first step, but without the autoresponder you will unable to collate the list and reply to them when they respond to your opt-in offer. This is because by far the most fruitful way of building a list is by means of an opt-in list on your website, offering some inducement to visitors who sign up. They do so by providing a name and email address that is added to your list by your autoresponder. Bulk email marketing would be impossible if you did not have a good list of people to email to, and you can’t start that without an autoresponder.

The opt-in inducement for your internet email marketing strategy can be a free offer, a newsletter or a free course. The latter is an excellent way of retaining interest since you write a course relevant to your website then preprogram it into your autoresponder to send an email to all who register for it over a period of say, fourteen days. They will keep opening your emails and you can make them offers after each part of the course.

Of course any discussion of email marketing strategy would be incomplete without a warning about SPAM laws – learn the laws for your country and abide by them. The penalties are severe.

Step Three: The Promotion

The third step to internet email marketing strategy, having set up a means of building your email list is to get your promotion ready. This should possibly have been your first step, but there you go. Get a sales page set up and at a preprogrammed date and them your autoresponder should send a mass email to your whole list. This should make them an offer designed to be such that they will difficult to refuse. You can write this yourself or pay to have it done. The sales page is important and worth doing right, and there is plenty software on offer to write it for you.

Step Four: Accept Orders and Payment

Fourthly, for your internet email marketing strategy you need a means of handling orders. This is essential for email marketing and some people find this a difficult step since it involves accepting money, and on the internet there are two major ways: by credit card or an electronic payment system. There are several of each commonly used on the internet. This step is not as difficult as you think, and once you have a checkout and payment system in place, you require an order delivery system.

You might find it much easier to make a monthly payment to a reputable website host that provides all of these necessary to you as standard. There are some available on the internet if you look carefully.

Step Five: Thank your Customers - or They Won’t Come Back

Finally, the fifth step to your internet email marketing strategy: the easiest of the lot. A simple thank you and recognition of your order. This is where we started – with your autoresponder. Bulk email internet marketing would be impossible without them!
