Internet Marketing Strategies – Four Simple Strategies for Online Income

Yes, Virginia, it is possible to make money over the internet. In fact, some people would argue that having access to the world’s largest marketplace, is a guaranteed income stream. So what internet marketing strategies should you use to get your share of that grand marketplace? Consider these four:

Open an Internet Store. One of the simplest internet marketing strategies is to simply sell your goods or services over the internet. Promote those goods and services through a website or email broadcasts and take orders directly over the internet. The best opportunities in this regard are for businesses that can deliver their services over the internet also (e.g. travel, freelance graphics, freelance, writing, database business, etc.)

Host advertising on your site. A common income strategy is to host advertising on your website. You may still drive visitors to your site via promotions or email but you make money by putting advertisements up or work through search engine programs such as Google’s Ad Sense. The more visitors to your site, the more opportunities for clicking on your ads, the more revenue.

Buy and Sell Goods over the Internet. This internet marketing strategy is a variant of the first – in essence become a “day trader” of goods and services. Buy goods from one source, sell to another. Sites like Alibaba.com and, of course, eBay are great opportunities to do this.

Publish over the Internet. Content is king. Those who have it provide it to those that don’t. The internet is an excellent place to provide content to other webmasters, iPod® or MP3 players, and dozens of other content categories. Amass and sell content directly over the internet.

Whatever internet marketing strategy you choose, make sure you research it carefully, understand both your market and competitors and then focus your efforts where it matters. The internet is not only the largest marketplace in the world, it’s the only marketplace where you can be just as visible as a Fortune 500 company!
