If you want a state-of-the-art Karaoke system, be prepared for it to cost you a few thousand dollars. However, if you just want a basic karaoke machine, it will probably just you around one hundred dollars. These machines come in varying shapes and sizes. They have an audio input, an audio output and a way of changing the music's tone and pitch. They have a system which has means of vocal suppression. These machines also have audio mixers with microphone input built-in with CD+G, VCD, Laser Disc or DVD players. Some of the fancier systems come with a television to display the lyrics; these are known as KTVs.Some Karaoke systems even have the capability to randomize songs of a particular genre when programmed so that all can participate at one time. Through this, a well known Karaoke game has shaped up known as "Kamikaze Karaoke" which is increasingly becoming popular in many parts of the country. Basically, people put a genre CD on random and they have to sing whatever song comes up next!Low-end Karaoke systems have a technique that alienates the vocal tracks from CDs. What they do is remove or reduce the pitch of the central tracks where the singer's voice is usually placed. It is an unsophisticated method that sometimes results in poor quality, as some of the instruments played get cut down, as they are also on the same central track. Nowadays, Karaoke is available over the Internet and on some mobile phones. Computer programs are being developed to serve the same purpose as Karaoke machines, as well, so Karaoke lovers need not have a full-fledged Karaoke gadget just to sing.
