List Building Profits

List building can be a very lucrative exercise online, but you must be sure to focus on profits.

The first step to list building profits is to make sure that you allow people to opt in to the correct list for their needs.

The second step to list building profits is to build a relationship that includes both content and sales pitches.

The third step to list building profits is to make sure that your payment acceptance system is able to meet all your requirements and provide the proper receipts and documentation for the transaction. Most common ones can, but some are better than others. Customers must be provided with security, and they tend to feel safe with those payment systems they have use before. So choose a standard and not something new. Let others prove the new: your mailing campaign is too important for experimentation.

The fourth step to list building profits is to make sure that you can distribute you emailing properly, and provide suitable thank you letters for your customers. You want them back again, so be polite. Which takes us to the fifth: backup. There is nothing as important and productive as contacting your customer some time after the purchase and asking if they are happy with their product or if they have had any problems they need help with.

This is more important than even most experienced internet marketers appear to understand. Repeat sales are important on the High Street. How long would K-Mart last if every customer purchased once, then never returned? This applies to you as well as K-Mart. You should contact your customer after the sale. They will believe that you are really interested in them, and will return to you for their next purchase.

Targeted email marketing and list building for profit can be very rewarding, but you must do it properly with the customer as a continuing source of profit for you, not just a target.
