List building is such a great way to build an income online – and it is one of the only ways to build a long term, asset-like business online. List building of course is the process of allowing visitors to opt in to one of your automated online lists that are tailored to the particular needs of the demographic that is opting in.This allows you to send content, information, and promotional material to people who have one mind about things. One thing that is most important in your list building is segmenting your lists. You need a list for every different type of thing you sell. If you sell pet products, you need many lists. One for dog toys, one for dog bones, one for dog food – and you need one for cat toys, cat food, etc. You see, the tighter you segment your lists, the more money you will make. The reason is that the tighter you segment your lists, the more effectively you can target the reader of that list with the right offers. For example, if you only have one list, pet toys, and the person only has one pet, a dog, and everyday, you rotate between sending out an offer for a different type of pet –then the dog owner is only going to get one dog offer every so many days – the number of days in your rotation.Well, because the dog person only wants dog products, after awhile he stops opening his email because he isn’t getting what he needs. But if you sent only dog offers to dog people and cat offers to cat people, then your response rates are a lot higher. And they keep reading your emails.
