List Building Steps for Success

List building is one of the most lucrative things that you can do online in the Internet marketing arena, to create long-term residual incomes for yourself. Now I must say this, when I say long-term residual incomes, I do not mean that you can work for six months, and then retire forever, and continue generate income. What I am saying, however, is that if you build a list, nurture that list, learn to send it quality content, and learn how to make that list to convert, you can earn a nice, consistent income for as long as you nurse that list.

So what are the steps for success in list building?

I think that one of the most important things in list building is deciding on a niche. To be extremely effective in list building, your list must be tightly targeted -- that means that it should revolve around one single keyword or keyword topic alone. If you have several keywords or keyword topics, make several lists. Your opt in e-mail lists should be extremely targeted, please must decide on a niche before you even begin.

The next thing that is important for success in list building is to put a squeeze page (a landing page that is optimized only for creating opt in subscribers) on your website, or the bulk of your traffic comes in, and preferably on your index page.

The next thing that you must do for success in list building is learned write e-mails. These e-mails must be written as the one individual, use personalization techniques that should be available in your autoresponder program, and should not include group language such as you all, my members, my subscribers, my nice subscribers, or anything crazy like that. You must write your e-mails on a personal level, then send them out in the group format, of course in your autoresponder service.

To become extremely effective at list building, you must study your e-mail open rates and your e-mail click through rates, to determine which e-mails are effective in which are not. This should serve as an error correcting mechanism for yourself, so that you can learn to write more effective e-mails and develop more effective relationships with those in your lists, the more effective e-mails and more effective relationships you develop with those on your lists, the more money you can make in list building.
