Lucrative list building is the art, and yes I did say art, not science, of building an opt in e-mail list of like-minded subscribers who are likely to spend money and allow you to monetize your Web site. Why is lucrative list building not science? Well in some sense, there is a science to the art, just as when a painter paints a painting he has to follow the rules and guidelines of colors and textures. However, every single list that you build will have a different demographic, it will have a different response rate, it would respond to a different type of e-mail letter, even if the list is derived out of the very similar niche. The responsiveness of your list will have a lot to do with the original squeeze page which you used to build the opt in e-mail list, and will have a lot to do with the emotional status of the list members.In this sense, lucrative list building is indeed an art. Now, the technicalities of the art, and the exact responsiveness and response features of the exact subscribers and your opt in e-mail list can be manipulated and can be studied in a scientific manner. So perhaps, in some sense list building of a lucrative sort is a science. But for all practical purposes, it must be treated as an art.You simply cannot go out and do exactly what someone else is doing, and have the exact same amount of success. You cannot buy a get rich quick business in a box from some Internet guru, mail a bunch of e-mails and get the same level of success. You have to understand the art. And you have to be able to apply a scientific method of studying your individual lists’ response rate. In order to be successful in this building, and genuinely make a lucrative pastime, you have to build and study the numbers, and work creatively
