The ancient civilization of Persia was considered one of the greatest civilizations ever created in the history of mankind. Now much of that area is occupied by modern day Iran, a great nation with good standard of living. The President of Iran reminds of the great and noble ancestry of Persian Empire and tells of the foundation of their noble nation.In fact the people of that era during the great empire brought us a gift to mathematics. They invented "Zero" which was a concept that was labeled with a symbol as in the modern symbols used as numbers in Mathematics. How did these great minds think of the concept of zero, nada, zilch or nothing? No-Thing. Were they able to see what no one else of that day could see? Nothing? How did they do it?The "one's and zero's" that we use today in computers and software code and signify binary code to send information could not be possible with out the zero. Thus the ancient and Medieval Muslims and those of the Islamic World made Mathematic Breakthroughs that has shaped modern mathematics to this day. The President of Iran is a brilliant man to point all this out and it is our duty to thank him with a special delivery in accordance with the all-due respect that is demanded.Today the United States uses the "Zero" created by Persia to help guide US smart munition weapons in accordance with net-centric battlespace protocol. I certainly hope this article is of interest and that is has propelled thought. The goal is simple; to help you in your quest to be the best in 2007.
