As I write this, in a couple days time the world will farewell 2006. Personally for me, it's been something of a shocker year; an Annus Horribillus!So I'm looking forward to 2007.I'm full of plans, ideas, and even though I'm pretty worn out from surviving 2006, I can feel that resurgence of energy that comes from a little time reflecting on future vision and strategy.AND that dirty word…. Goal Setting!But there's one thing I'm NOT doing……and that's making New Years Resolutions!I really don;t likethem at all do you?But you'd be interested in what I did find out when I did some research on Google Trends (google.com/trends) for the term "Goal Setting".Check out a picture of what I found on my blog link below. If you're at all serious about internet marketing it really is quite instructive!In fact, I reckon the shape of that graph clearly shows WHY New Years Resolutions DON'T work.The big SECRET that most people don't know about regarding New Years Resolutions is this:What are you going to do with those goals DURING the year to increase your chances of them actually coming to pass?That's the kicker!That's the reason most of the "New Years Resolution brigade" fail miserably!They crash and burn, because there's no foundation, there's no real resolve, there's no consistent building of habits to support their "resolutions" into their lives.So after a few days, weeks or months, they give up, and quietly forget about it, until next year!Wouldn't you agree it would make a whole lot more sense to take a much different approach?Check out the Google Trends graph on my blog link below and you'll find out a way that DOES work!
