No Contract Cell Phone Plans

By: Max Bellamy

The cell phone market fluctuates frequently with new innovations in technology. The arrival of new models and plans make older plans obsolete. It is therefore important to compare cell phone plans and their status in the market. Some of the aspects to look at include 'no contract' cell phone plans, prepaid plans and postpaid plans.

The major benefit of a 'no contract' cell phone plan is that the subscriber does not need to enter into a contract. Choosing a cellular phone contract is very challenging. Signing a contract forces the customer to look into the future and decide how useful the plan will be. Most contract plans are available on month-to-month or one-, two- or three-year contracts, with a monthly fixed charge.

'No credit' plans are useful for those who have poor credit history. Most of these plans do not make a credit check. While the majority of plans do not need security deposits, a few monthly plans require it. These plans are great for students, teenagers, travelers and businessmen. Examples of 'no credit' plans are prepaid cell phone plans and 'pay as you go' cell phone plans.

With prepaid plans, the subscriber pays for his minutes before he uses them. There are no monthly bills or hidden fee. Prepaid connections are normally preferred by those on a tight budget. These plans are quite affordable and good options in emergencies. They often offer discounts, a starter phone card or other smart benefits. Subscribers find them suitable because they do not have to sign a binding monthly contract.

For beginners, there is no monthly bill or contract with the 'pay as you go' cell phone plans. The caller does not need a credit card, either. One can easily buy a phone card from the market, which is similar to giving the carrier money towards your account. The caller only needs to put $20 credit to the account every 90 days to keep the plan active. A hybrid plan is another variety of 'no contract' cell phone plans. The advantages are no contracts, no credit card requirements and no deposits.
