Nuclear Test North Korea?

By: Lance Winslow

North Korea is planning a nuclear test again and Japan has said it will provide further sanctions for trade. Unfortunately, they already did that before and therefore North Korea has nothing to lose. In fact, North Korea owes money to Japan for previous trade deals. They also owe money to China and South Korea. If those nations have sanctions against North Korea then North Korea has nothing to lose or fear by threats of sanctioning due to their nuclear weapons tests.

Previously you may recall that North Korea had launched five missiles. Two were long-range missiles and both fell into the ocean, as they were unable to light the extra stages on the three stage rocket systems. But as we know every failure in science leads to new discoveries and therefore each test helps propel their technologies and advanced weapons systems.

Now North Korea wants to test a nuclear bomb, much like the United States of America did in the Nevada desert may decades ago. The problem with this is that if North Korea sets off a nuclear explosion then they have proved to the world that they have nuclear weapons and are a force to be reckoned with. Meanwhile, North Korea wishes to export weapons and they have also met with Iran, which would like to blow Israel off the map.

Perhaps you can see the dilemma here that if North Korea perfects its long-range missiles and proves that it has nuclear weapons to sell to the world, then we are all in big trouble in the first world nations. Obviously something must be done and it must be done quickly. Please consider all this in 2006.
