Often there are many people who miss the live webcasts. For them, the archived web casting is extremely useful as it indexes and archives the live event for transmission later on. There are also several forms of web casting that collect information from the receivers through several channels such as the e-mails, surveys, etc. These are called as the interactive web casting. There are also several web casting systems that come up as some archived work or just as an advertisement. These are included in the popular websites and are known as the stand alone web casting.

There is an increasing base of people who employ the technology of web casting for the purpose of advertising. However, the people/enterprises that opt for such web casting advertisements should be very clear about some important issues such as the objective of the ad, the target market, budget, etc. Once such things are well taken care of, this form of media can prove to be rather revolutionizing. There are several multimedia forms that are utilized by the webcasts. They use the forms such as the slides, complete videos, audio pieces, video with the slide, audio along with slide, steaming text along with some important link, and so on. All the major names in the field of global new media like the CNN, BBC, etc. have this system of web casting working in their output.
