In its continuing efforts to protect and preserve the value of its intellectual property, Park City Group (OTCBB:PCYG) announced today that it is aggressively defending its patented labor management method and process in a patent infringement litigation against Workbrain Corporation (TSX:WB). The Toronto-based Workbrain markets Total Workforce Management including a workforce scheduling component that Park City Group alleges infringes the company’s U.S. Patent No. 5,111,391. U.S. Patent No. 5,111,391 was granted to Park City Group in 1992. The patent, in brief, describes a system and method for making staff schedules as a function of available resources, employee skills, availability, and priority and the sequencing of tasks to be performed in the schedule. Park City Group has previously and successfully defended this patent in prior infringement situation with a number of major software companies. “The patenting of this as well as our other intellectual property is the result of years of energy, effort and costs expended in creating these methods and processes. It is a significant part of the strength and value of Park City Group. We continue to create new and patentable processes as noted in our most recently granted patent, U.S. Patent No. 7,113,904, which was issued on September 26, 2006. This new patent brings our total number of patents to 9 with the addition of 3 pending patent applications,” notes Randy Fields, CEO and Chairman of the company. “We have made a significant investment in our development efforts and are particularly proud of our technology accomplishments. Our shareholders understand that the expensive process of developing technology solutions and then protecting the efforts of our labors with patents creates additional value to our company and we will continue to aggressively defend our intellectual property at every opportunity.” About Park City Group Park City Group, Inc. develops and markets patented computer software that helps its retail customers to increase their sales while reducing their inventory and labor costs: the two largest controllable expenses in the retail industry.
