Praise God Through the Storms

Praise God from whom all blessings flow
Praise Him all creatures here below
Praise Him all you heavenly hosts
Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.


Now, what about life's turbulent storms?
What are we to do when they blow through?
What will be your attitude, heart, and mind?
How patient will you be in that trying time?
What shall we feel when they get near?
Will you blaspheme, doubt, and fear?
Will you abide faithful throughout the year?
Will you lift up holy hands to praise and cheer
The living, loving God, who holds you near?


When scary storms start approaching
Will you ridicule and begin reproaching
The Lord of life who helps you continually?
Will you rebel and behave cynically?
Disregard parents, the law, and authority?
Will you revel in wayward perversity?
Throw off firm foundational principles
To journey down a pathetic, proud way
Yield to what ungodly, wicked sinners say?
Like sinking self-sufficient atheists who don't pray?


Hell no! I will arise and stand strong today
Push all the negative self-talk out of the way
Breakthrough and bless the Lord night and day
I will be pure, endure, and be made whole
As trials and tribulations strengthen my soul
When praises go up, blessing come down
These storms shall blow and go out of town
God shall be glorified, though some be horrified
The crucible shall work as a refining fire
Testing the true and faithful's desire
Revealing inordinate lusts and tendencies
Exposing and uncovering personal peculiarities.


As you go through storms, guard your heart
Praise the Lord consistently and don't depart
Praise brings forth angels to war and fight for you
The Prince of peace will settle and deliver you
Prophetically praise and paralyze the enemy
Liberate yourself with powerful praise boldly
Your Redeemer is able, willing, and ready
To visit, liberate, free, and sustain you
Stand firm and praise when that's all to do
Even when your soul wants to cry and wail
Praises will prevail and your God never fail.
