Quit Smoking: Be Ready

How do you quit smoking? Even in these days it can be difficult to stop.History is littered with fantastical tales of momentous methods to help quit the habit. Yet, the issue remains. There is no 100% way that is certain to make you stop. But there are ways to try and begin the process. It can only make you healthier.

First of all - set the scene. Adjust your mind-set in relation to the goal. Quitting smoking is no joke. It can be hard. Accept that and you are half way there. It will require a lot of effort, dedication, and commitment. The road ahead is rough but it is a road you can travel - if you want to.

Have a reachable goal. Don't aim for targets you cannot easily reach. Mark a date. Keep to it. Make the day have special significance. Commit to it and don’t lose sight of it. This is YOUR day. The start of something new and worthwhile. Treat it as such.

Get a great support group around you. Tell people about what you are doing. Shout it out from the rooftops if you want to. Sort out a plan with your friends. Take your partner through the process. Use others for your own gain - both you and they will be thankful.

Be ready for the problems – the things that will set you back. There will be problems. Accept it. Cigarettes are addictive – the thought of quitting smoking can cause serious anxiety attacks. Conquer them.
