The United States Army must save money on payroll and therefore it makes sense to hire people at $3.00 to $5.00 per day instead of monthly US Based wages, pensions and healthcare costs. There are huge slums in Mexico with nearly 4-5 million people in them and that means about 1-2 million men of fighting age. In the Kibera Slum in Nairobi there are as many as 800,000 people and that means about 300,000 of fighting age.Currently, many of the men in these slums might like to eat better and by having them join the military they will not be spreading HIV/AIDS. A bonus could be paid after they have completed their tour of duty and thus they could move their families out of the slum into the city. These soldiers would have some job skills and team working abilities too.The United States even with its mechanized armies will still need human soldiers in the next few decades to fight wars in urban areas, what better than to use urban city dwellers to help fight? Recruiting World's Poor for the US Army might offend some folks, yet I for one do not see them signing up to join our military themselves. The US needs a large standing army to protect the people, combat International Terrorism, aid our allies, watch our assets and provide for the children of the world. We need more people and we can train huge armies of foreign fighters borrowing soldiers from the World's Slums in trade for food and good pay to help them live a better life.I certainly hope this article is of interest and that is has propelled thought.
