Roger Federer on his way to the Indian Wells Masters Series

By: Cindy Ferguson

Federer is somewhat anxious in if he will be able to beat Guillermo Vila’s record but is certain that history will determine the outcome of the match as he expressed the following, "Hopefully I can win again and beat Vilas' record, but if I don't it's alright, I will start all over again."

He will be up against the world’s top players on the Indian Wells tennis field, which include the following tennis super stars Rafael Nadal, Andy Roddick and Britons Andy Murray and Tim Henman.

Federer is going to have to equal John McEnroe's record of 42 consecutive victories in his opening in California and he will also be given the chance to tie Ivan Lendl's run of 44 straight wins just two matches later.

The Indian Wells Masters Series is scheduled to be held from the 5th of March 2007 until the 18th of the same month.
