There are essentially two types of search results – organic and paid. Paid ranking is the result of a Pay Per Click (PPC) advertising campaign such as Yahoo! Sponsored Search. Organic search results, on the other hand, involve no ad payments. Websites are ranked on their own. If you do it right, you can get your site ranked within the first ten search results for your specified keywords – all without paying a dime. The good news is, if you follow a few easy tips, organic optimization isn’t difficult.

Organic SEO Tips:

• Proper selection of keywords: This is a critical step. Fortunately, it’s also an easy one. There are many free online keyword research tools at your disposal. Do a search online. The keywords you choose ought to appear on your site in as many ways as possible. Use them in your file and folder names, as part of your page titles, and in your navigation.

• Clever selection of domain name: It’s important that your domain name (or web address, such as www.google.com) is indicative of what your business does. If your business provides custom essay services, a good domain name would be www.customresumes.com. If possible, include one of your keywords in your domain name. Further, ensure that your domain is succinct and easy to remember, and be sure you are making a good decision from the beginning. Changing your domain name before you have a strong brand identity can be a fatal mistake to an online business.
