Search engine marketing is one of the easiest ways, once you figure out how to do it, to get targeted traffic to your web site. Think about it, how much more targeted can you get, than for someone to type in some word into their favorite search engine, and your web site, optimized for that word, comes up #1 in the search engine results. Wow! You are very likely to be clicked on, and if you are actually representing the word the surfer typed in, you have a good chance at business. So of course you know that there are two ways to get at search engine marketing, one is on page techniques, the other is off page techniques. The purpose of this article is on page techniques, so I will jump right in.So what are on page techniques for search engine marketing?Basically, on page techniques for search engine marketing involve doing things to your web page itself to influence your search engine rankings, rather than doing work, or asking others to do work, to other, linking web sites. So how do you do on page optimization for search engine marketing?1) Use your keyword or keyword phrases in the title – use it first in the title2 Use your keyword or keyword phrases in the keywords – again, use it first3 Use your keyword or keyword phrases in the description – once again, they should be the first words in the description, whatever it takes4 Use your keyword or keyword phrases in the content – twice in the first paragraph, once in each of the following paragraphs, and once at the very end of the piece.
