When I first got started online, I read a lot about linking strategies and wondered what it would do for me.So I began to write articles--a lot of articles - and found that any web page to which I linked the articles, began to rise meteorically in natural search engine rankings. Why does it work? It is widely understood that one of the main formulas for natural search engine rankings involves an analysis of web page popularity.Web page popularity is proxied by the number of inbound links to that web page. You see, if you have more inbound links, it is assumed that your web page is more popular than a web page that does not have as many inbound links. So how do you take the easiest advantage of this?Write articles, include your link in the article in your bio section, and let the search engines do the rest. How important is this one linking strategy to natural search engine results?I think it is more important than the search engines would have us believe. You see, I have pages that the primary form of search engine marketing is article submission alone, and those pages have really high rankings. Coincidence? Maybe. I doubt it.
